Safer Internet Day In Primary 6

5th Feb 2019

Well what a buzz there was around Primary 6 today for Safer Internet Day.

This year’s theme was ‘Together for a better internet' and we really embraced this throughout the day giving valuable input and also learning a lot.

We began our day with a number of different activities - we completed a survey to see our thoughts about being online, completed a question wall and we even had to try and draw the internet... now that was a tricky activity!

Miss Holmes then took us to the assembly hall so as we could try to use our online choice compass - Miss Holmes read us some tricky dilemmas and we had to move to the compass point in the hall which best suited how we felt about it.

Miss Holmes led our Safer Internet Day assembly and we had to really think about how young people need to work together to be positive, safe and respectful online. We most definitely enjoyed showing off all of our wonderful knowledge about the Internet, games and apps to Miss Holmes during the assembly! The highlight of the assembly had to be the Newsround presenters e-safety song! Remember... #togetherforabetterinternet #whodoyoushareyourdetailswith

Throughout the rest of the day we got to explore e-safety and e-safety websites. We created our own permission pledges which we are going to try super hard to follow both when in school and at home. We also designed an e-safety top tips poster for the competition being run by our Digital Leaders and we are super excited to find out who the winner from Primary 6 will be!
