International Women’s Day took place on 8th March and is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
We were delighted to welcome Marie McGuigan into school to host a whole school assembly on behalf of the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. Marie shared her own personal journey of joining an all male fire crew at a local station and the achievements she has accomplished during her career so far. Marie highlighted the career opportunities available for women within the NIFR and took part in a question and answer session with the children.
We would like to thank Marie for giving up her time today to share her story with us - the message was definitely clear ‘be brave, dream big and don’t let anything stand in your way!’ 💪
