As part of our topic work about World War 2, P6 welcomed Seán from Holding History to our class yesterday. We had a brilliant morning finding out more about the Belfast Blitz, rationing, air raids and the Home Guard, as well as having our own air raid drill. We were put through our paces as Home Guard recruits, completing an obstacle course and learning to salute Capt.McDonald! The amazing, original military artefacts that we were able to learn about and hold, really brought our learning to life!
