P3 Internet Safety Day

6th Feb 2024

Today was Safer Internet Day and the whole school took part. This year’s theme was ‘Inspiring change?  Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.

In primary 3 we brainstormed different types of online technology and what Primary 3 like to do online.  We focused on the term ‘online’ and devices that we used online!  Through a range of games and activities we explored how to stay safe online and how technology has changed over time.

We really enjoyed hearing the story of ‘Chicken Clicking’ read by two of our wonderful digital leaders.  The girls took a short book quiz after the story to make sure we all understood the important message of how important it is to ask permission before buying items online.

To keep active, we played the Emoji game, which helped us decide what to do if we accidently came across images or videos that we found upsetting or scary and we discussed what information is safe to put online. We all know it is really important to share our worries with a trusted grown up and to never share personal information or photos online without permission.

We had such a super day and can’t wait to hear what Mrs Miller thinks of our colourful entries for the school Internet Safety poster competition! Keep your eyes peeled for some of the entries displayed in our school!
