P2 celebrate Safer Internet Day 2018

6th Feb 2018

Tuesday 6th February marks Safer Internet Day 2018. We enjoyed using the Ipads to learn how to use a search engine, we loved browsing our School website and we had great fun playing games on the Cbeebies website. Our Digital Leaders from P6 and P7 came to help us!

We listened to a story about Smartie the Penguin - he wasn't so sure about what to do when he was online but we helped him by coming up with such clever ideas such as - 'Asking a grown up if an advert for a new game pops up' and 'Never talking online to someone you don't know.' We sang him Buddy the dog's song which we learned in Assembly.

Buddy’s ‘Use Your Tablet Safely’ Song

(Sung to the tune of Frère Jacques)

Ask your grown-up,

Ask your grown-up,

Ask for help!

Ask for help!

Use your tablet safely,

Use your tablet safely,

Woof, woof, woof!

Woof, woof, woof!

After break we made posters for Miss Holmes to display around our school - we can't wait to hear who has won the poster competition in P2!

We were thinking about Digital Footprints and made our own Digital Footprint using coloured card. They are fantastic. It was so much fun sharing our footprints with our friends.

Before we went home the Digital Leaders popped in to interview us about our day.  We were able to talk about what we have learned and what things we enjoyed the most about Safer Internet Day.
