Our new theme is 'In the Toy Box.' We have been learning about toys from the past and comparing them to toys from today. We were very lucky to receive a visit from one of our classmate's Granny & Grandad - Mr & Mrs O’Kane. They told us all about what life was like when they were at school, the toys they played with most and they even brought along some of their favourite toys to share with us. Mr O’Kane also told us about his time spent in Africa and taught us a new African playground game called ‘Mamba’. The children shared their favourite toys with the visitors and really enjoyed comparing the new toys with the old toys! We noticed that a lot of our toys nowadays are made from plastic whereas old toys were mostly wooden. What a super day - so much learning and so many smiles. We can't wait to explore our theme even more!
